PURPOSE: An image sensor and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to increase light transmittance by implementing a color filter of the image sensor. CONSTITUTION: A photo diode(120) is formed on a substrate. A first interlayer insulation layer is formed on the photo diode. A first color filter and a second color filter are formed on a first interlayer insulation layer. A second interlayer insulation layer(123) is formed on the first interlayer insulation layer. A third color filter(143) is formed on the second interlayer insulation layer.
