PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric chain block having a friction clutch which is attached to a motor shaft and which enables a set torque to be easily adjusted. SOLUTION: In this electric chain block, a first friction plate is held between the flange part of a cylindrical drive member axially attached to a connection shaft and the flange part of a cylindrical driven member axially attached to a drive gear. A second friction plate and a first driven plate are inserted into the cylindrical part of the drive member, and a disc spring and a second driven plate are inserted into the cylindrical part of the driven member. The electric chain block comprises the connection shaft having a connection member which connects the first driven plate and the second driven plate to each other and adjusts the interval between the first driven plate and the second driven plate and the friction clutch axially connected to the drive gear.
