<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic compass for correcting to detect displacement of a pointer. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic compass provided with an azimuth detection means (53) and for indicating azimuth by the pointer (11) includes: obtaining a movement position to move the pointer with a movement position calculation means (45) in order to indicate an azimuth detected with the azimuth detection means with the pointer; detecting the position of the pointer with position detection means (33a, 33b) when rotating the pointer up to the obtained movement position; discriminating whether the position of the pointer is displaced or not on the basis of the movement position obtained with the movement position calculation means and a pointer position detected with the position detection means; and correcting the position of the pointer when the position of the pointer is displaced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
