PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that suppresses production of coarse particles and efficiently produces an objective polysaccharides derivative with high productivity. SOLUTION: The method for producing the polysaccharide derivative is provided. In the method for obtaining the polysaccharides derivative of which part of or all of hydrogen atoms of hydroxy groups are substituted by a hydroxy group-containing group and/or a poly(oxyalkylene)-containing group, by reacting the polysaccharides with an epoxy compound and/or an etherification agent for producing polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether, a reaction device having a main stirring impeller fixed to a vertical driving shaft and an accessory stirring impeller fixed to a horizontal driving shaft is used.
