PURPOSE: A dummy bar insert control device is provided to prevent a dummy bar from falling by releasing the driver of a lower dummy bar inserting part in a process of transferring the dummy bar. CONSTITUTION: A dummy bar insert control device comprises a dummy bar, an upper dummy bar inserting part, a lower dummy bar inserting part, translation distance detectors(46,56), and a controller(80). The upper dummy bar inserting part inserts the dummy bar into a continual unit. The translation distance detector detects the translation distance of the dummy bar. The controller controls the lower dummy bar inserting part and the upper dummy bar inserting part and inserts the dummy bar into the continual unit.
