PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase productivity and efficiency by shortening a waiting time for printing, while preventing the reduction of the service life of an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The next image is printed by an engine mechanical part, when the primary transfer of a final color by the image forming apparatus is completed, expansion to image data capable of printing the next printing data is carried out and a printing request is made. On the other hand, when the printing request is not made, printing information on the presence and absence of the next printing data and the calculated printing request processing time required up to the printing request are confirmed and when the printing request processing time is shorter than a previously set delay allowed time, the start of post-processing for printing by the engine mechanical part is delayed and simultaneously, a timer is started. When the next printing request is made until a predetermined time elapses, the next image is printed without performing the post-processing for printing by the engine mechanical part and when the predetermined time elapses without any printing requests, the post-processing for printing by the engine mechanical part is started.
