The method involves authenticating a user with respect to a communication device (100) using a biometric sensor (50). A contactless interface (20) of the communication device is deactivated after successful authentication to suppress data transmission via the contactless interface. A filter function is deactivated, where the filter function accepts a command for activating the interface. An antenna (25) of the interface is deactivated. An activation signal is provided, where the filter function is deactivated and/or the antenna is activated with respect to the activation signal. An independent claim is also included for a communication system for authorization-dependent controlling of a contactless interface of a communication device.
