PURPOSE: A hair dryer and a unit thereof are provided, which can obtain hair and scalp protection effect by making the scalp warm using the heat by light source. CONSTITUTION: A hair dryer comprises: a first light source irradiating the light from the air blowing port in the air blast direction; a temperature sensor(14) sensing the temperature of the discharged air; a temperature setting unit(15) which designates the air temperature set value discharged from the air blowing port and is installed to be exposed outside the hair dryer; and a main body controller controlling the operation of the heater unit.
