A catalytic electrode for the reduction of oxygen comprises a particulate mixture of a spinel and an electrically conducting solid, and is bound by a separate binder into a porous self-supporting mass, or bonded to a support. The preferred binder is p.t.f.e. The conducting solid is usually Ag. Many spinels are listed including those of Mg, Zn, Cn, Cd, Mu, Co, Ni. Fe, Ti and Al. |
