PURPOSE: A vacuum cleaner is provided to signal when dust is collected more than the predetermined amount in a dust collector and prevent operating of a sucking motor and a compressor motor without the dust collector. CONSTITUTION: A vacuum cleaner(1) comprises: a main body(10); a connection pipe(50); a dust collector(200); a pressurizing member which applies pressure to collected dust in the dust storage only if installation of the dust container and the connection pipe are detected; a dust collector mounted sensor which detects installation of the dust collector; and a pipe mounted sensor which detects installation of the connection pipe.
