The assembly has a roller maintained in a retention cage and comprising an axial hole. The cage has axial crosspieces (8) extending between crowns (6, 7) for forming a roller retention housing (5) between two adjacent crosspieces and the crowns. Lateral surfaces of the roller are placed with respect to lateral surfaces of the housing. Roller hooking units constituted of an axial projection (11) and an internal recess (12) and formed on each lateral surface of the housing. The hooking units are cooperated with the lateral surfaces of the roller for maintaining the roller in the housing.
