The rod has a head (10) mounted between crankshaft cheeks of an engine. The rod comprises a circular crown (110) on a lateral surface (11), where recesses (111, 112, 113) are provided along the crown for forming projected contact studs (121, 122, 123). The studs are placed in contact with one of the cheeks, during angulation movement of the rod with respect to a crankshaft. The studs are placed at 120 degrees along the crown. An independent claim is also included for a method for forming a connecting rod.
