<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive assist device capable of calculating blind areas that a subject creates, and making it unlikely that moving objects present in the blind areas of the subject will come into contact with each other. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The position of a blinding subject A<SB>1</SB>producing blind areas F<SB>1</SB>, F<SB>2</SB>is recognized. Based on the relative positions of the blinding subject A<SB>1</SB>and moving objects B<SB>1</SB>, B<SB>2</SB>present near the subject A<SB>1</SB>, the blind areas F<SB>1</SB>, F<SB>2</SB>of the moving objects B<SB>1</SB>, B<SB>2</SB>created by the blinding subject A<SB>1</SB>are calculated. In this way, the blind areas F<SB>1</SB>, F<SB>2</SB>of the moving objects B<SB>1</SB>, B<SB>2</SB>created by the blinding subject A<SB>1</SB>can be recognized, and for example the moving objects B<SB>1</SB>, B<SB>2</SB>present in the blind areas F<SB>1</SB>, F<SB>2</SB>are warned and alerted so as to make it unlikely that the moving objects B<SB>1</SB>, B<SB>2</SB>present in the different blind areas created by the blinding subject A<SB>1</SB>will come into contact with each other.
