<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of generating a display or representation of a simulation model within a graphical user interface (GUI). <P>SOLUTION: The simulation model includes some objects which include state, a function, a link and modifier objects. The method commences with the display of node representations for at least first and second objects. Thereafter, a link representation which represents an underlying link object is selected from a prescribed set of link representations so as to represent a desired relation condition between the first and the second objects. Each link representation of the set is associated with a distinct relation condition. Each relation condition is further determined in terms of an underlying equation.
