BATTERY PROTECTION DEVICE AND BATTERY PACK HAVING THE BUILT-IN BATTERY PROTECTION DEVICE

A battery protection device includes: switch elements (1, 2) which perform switching between connection and disconnection of a charge/discharge channel (9) between I/O terminals (5, 6) for discharging to an electronic device (300) using a secondary battery (200) as a power source and charging of the secondary battery (200) by a charger (400) and the two terminals (3, 4) of the secondary battery (200); and a protection IC (90) which controls switching operation of the switch elements (1, 2) as follows.  Upon detection of lowering of the inter-terminal voltage between the I/O terminals (5, 6) when the charge inhibit condition of the secondary battery (200) is satisfied to cut-off the charge/discharge channel, the switch element (1) temporarily makes the charge/discharge channel in the conductive state for a predetermined time and after the predetermined time has elapsed, the switch element (1) returns the charge/discharge channel to the cut-off state.
