PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the current required for moving the magnetic domain walls of a magnetic wire, and to stabilize the state where the magnetic domain walls are held. SOLUTION: As a material of the magnetic wire, a material having an axis of easy magnetization switchable between an in-plane direction and a perpendicular direction at a transition temperature. In this case, the current required for moving the magnetic domain walls can be reduced by performing a sequence, in which the current for moving the magnetic domain walls 48 is not supplied when the magnetic wire 12 is in a first state where the axis of easy magnetization is in the in-plane direction, and is supplied only when the magnetic wire 12 is in a second state where the axis of easy magnetization is in the perpendicular direction and the current required for moving the domain walls is small. In the first state where the magnetic domain walls 48 are not moved, it is possible to stabilize the state where the magnetic domain walls are held. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
