PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the current required for moving the magnetic domain walls of a magnetic wire, and to stabilize the state where the magnetic domain walls are held. SOLUTION: As a material of the magnetic wire, a material having an axis of easy magnetization switchable between an in-plane direction and a perpendicular direction at a transition temperature. In this case, the current required for moving the magnetic domain walls can be reduced by performing a sequence, in which the current for moving the magnetic domain walls 48 is not supplied when the magnetic wire 12 is in a first state where the axis of easy magnetization is in the in-plane direction, and is supplied only when the magnetic wire 12 is in a second state where the axis of easy magnetization is in the perpendicular direction and the current required for moving the domain walls is small.
