<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide weight reduction and high rigidity in a footrest for a motorcycle, equipped with a footrest bracket mounted on a vehicle body frame and a footrest bar supported on the footrest bracket. <P>SOLUTION: The footrest for a motorcycle is provided with footrest brackets 20, 36 mounted on a vehicle body side and footrest bars 21, 37 supported on the footrest brackets 20, 36. The footrest brackets 20, 36 include footrest bar supports 23, 38 formed at a rear end thereof, upper and lower pairs of support arms 24, 25, 39, 40 extending to forward from the footrest bar supports, and mount portions 26, 41 on the vehicle body side formed at each of front edges of the upper and lower pairs of support arms 24, 25, 39, 40. The upper support arms 24, 39 are formed so as to curve upward of a straight line L<SB>1</SB>on which a cross-sectional center line C<SB>1</SB>passing through the center of the cross section of the upper support arm passes through a center point P<SB>1</SB>of the mount portion of the upper side support arm and a center point O of the footrest bar support in side view. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
