<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid ink melting device having a melt plate which does not require a restriction section. <P>SOLUTION: An ink loader 10 has a melt plate 18 configured to melt a solid ink stick 12, a temperature sensor 40 configured to sense the temperature of the melt plate 18, and a mount 50 disposed on the melt plate 18 and configured so as to operably connect the temperature sensor 40 to the melt plate 18.
