<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire extinguishing device having a structure with superior design property, having a simple constitution and facilitating a position control. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This fire extinguishing device includes: a circling arm pipe 9 having a proximal end side disposed in a housing and a distal end side circling to emerge/retract with respect to a housing opening section with the distal end side as a circling axis; a water discharge pipe 13 attached to the distal end side of the circling arm pipe 9 to circle with respect to the circling arm pipe 9; a single motor 21 applying a circling force to the circling arm pipe 9 and the water discharge pipe 13; and a circling force transmission mechanism transmitting the driving force of the motor to the circling arm pipe 9 and the discharge pipe 13 and inversely circling the circling arm pipe 9 and the water discharge pipe 13.
