<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing pure water prevents carbon dioxide gas from being re-dissolved in a water storage tank by keeping a water level in the water storage tank constant, and reduces the amount of nitrogen consumption in a gas phase. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for producing pure water includes: a desalting chamber inflow line 3 causing treating water to flow into a desalting chamber 2a formed between a pair of electrodes; a feed water pump 11 feeding the treating water to the desalting chamber inflow line 3; a treated water outflow line 4 discharging the treated water with ions removed in the desalting chamber 2a; a treated water tank 12 storing the treated water fed from the treated water outflow line 4; a level sensor 13 detecting the level of the treated water in the treated water tank 12; and a control part 14 controlling the rotation speed of the feed water pump 11 based on the water level detection signals of the level sensor 13.
