SPHEROID COMPOSITE, SPHEROID-CONTAINING HYDROGEL AND PROCESSES FOR PRODUCTION OF SAME

A spheroid composite comprising a substrate and spheroids, in which the substrate is a cell-adhesive porous substrate on which multiple hydrophilic areas and multiple hydrophobic areas are arranged and the spheroids exist in the hydrophobic areas, said hydrophilic areas being areas formed by curing a photosensitive composition containing a branched polyalkylene glycol derivative which has both three or more polyalkylene glycol groups each having a polymerizable substituent at the end and an at least trivalent connecting group bonded to the polyalkylene glycol groups.  The spheroid composite contains multiple spheroids having uniform sizes. Further, provided is a spheroid-containing hydrogel comprising both a hydrogel and two or more uniform-sized spheroids having diameters of 70 to 400 µm, wherein the uniform-sized spheroids are arranged in the hydrogel in such a way as not to come into contact with each other.  The spheroid-containing hydrogel can well retain the function of multiple spheroids contained therein.
