An invention is provided which comprises a tandem welding carriage (400) having at least two welding carriages (200) coupled to each other. Each of the welding carriages (200) having a base (202), rear wheel assemblies disposed at one end of the base, and welding attachment portions. The two welding carriages (200) are coupled to each other using a coupling member (405), and each welding carriage (200) is carrying an arc welding device (401 ) and/or spool to allow for tandem arc welding.
