<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diagnostic kit not requiring the combination of two tests, and enabling clear and simple determination of HBV from very low concentration to very high concentration. <P>SOLUTION: The specific oligonucleotide primer and probe for rapid and highly sensitive detection of hepatitis B virus by amplification of the HBV nucleic acid, and the method of using them are provided.
