<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure saving of space in an operating section in an image forming apparatus and improve operability. <P>SOLUTION: An image reading section 3 is formed on a top section of an apparatus body 11 and reads image data from an original. An image forming section 9 is provided below the image reading section 3 and carries out an image forming process based on the read image data. A first operating section 13 is fixed to the apparatus body 11 and receives the operation input of the apparatus. A second operation section 15 receives the operation input of the apparatus and is connected and supported to the first operation section 13 to be able to change positions between a first position overlapping with the first operating section 13 and a second position protruding from the first operation section 13.
