<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce unevenness in the spinning of a hit ball at the time of a misshot regarding long irons, and to increase the accuracy of a shot by which a hit ball is intentionally curved regarding short irons. <P>SOLUTION: The iron type golf club set consists of (n) pieces of golf clubs having different loft angles. On the face 4 of each club head 3, a plurality of face grooves 10 which extend in the toe-heel direction, and a plurality of auxiliary grooves 11 are installed. The auxiliary groove 11 includes a plurality of first auxiliary grooves 11a which extend in a section from a toe side line L1 to a heel side line L2. Each first auxiliary groove 11a consists of an upward protruding curved groove which descends from the apex section 13 being located at the highest place to the toe side line L1 and the heel side line L2 in the section.
