The device has a lead (10) implemented as a sliding lead, where the lead includes a feed system for movement of a feed slide. The lead is displaceably guided using a lead guide (20), and an adjusting device is arranged at the lead for adjusting the lead along the lead guide. The adjusting device and the feed system are formed in such a manner that adjustment of the lead is independent of a feed motion obtained by the feed system. The feed system includes a rope drive cylinder feed, and a kelly winch and/or auxiliary winch is arranged at the lead guide. An independent claim is also included for a supporting device comprising a ram- and/or bore device.
