PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rational securing technique for a cover member as for a septic tank with a structure where a cover member covering a manhole can be secured to a member on the manhole side. SOLUTION: In the septic tank 100 where the water to be treated is subjected to purification treatment, a manhole cover 120 covering the manhole 108 is allowed to be secured to the member on the manhole side via a lock pin 130. An inflow such as earth and sand flowed into each clearance C formed between the head 131 of the lock pin 130 and the manhole cover 120 is exhausted to the inside of the septic tank body 101 (the region outside of each clearance C in the lower direction of the clearance) through each slit part 126 as an exhaust means provided at the support part 122c of an inserting hole 122.
