PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable optical pickup device, by increasing the welding strength and reducing the positional displacement due to environmental changes, in fixing an optical component including a lens by laser welding. SOLUTION: In a laser welding portion between a pickup case 2 and an optical component 1 having the lens, the optical component 1 has a joint having a convex protrusion 1c at a section to be joined to the pickup case 2. Laser radiation length is made longer than that of the protrusion, so that a thick welding portion 4-2 is formed at the end of the protrusion 1c so as to enhance the welding strength between the optical component 1 and the pickup case 2.
