PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container carrying apparatus for starting to supply a container from a predetermined specified pocket. SOLUTION: The container carrying apparatus includes a star wheel type carrying apparatus 10, and a supplying apparatus 20 synchronously operated with a star wheel 11 so as to supply a beverage can C to a pocket 12 when the pocket 12 of the star wheel 11 of the carrying apparatus 10 is positioned at a prescribed supplying position Ps. In the container carrying apparatus, a stopper 30 is provided which is switched to an authorized state for authorizing to carry the beverage can C into the supplying apparatus 20 and to a prohibited state for prohibiting to carry the beverage can C into the supplying apparatus 20. When supplying the beverage can C to the carrying apparatus 10 is started, a pocket reaching time when the preset objective pocket to be supplied reaches the supplying position Ps is estimated, and thereafter, the time for switching the stopper 30 to the authorized state is controlled so that the beverage can C at first passing through the stopper 30 reaches the supplying position Ps at the estimated pocket reaching time after the stopper 30 is switched to the authorized state.
