PURPOSE: A vacuum cleaner is provided to exactly rotate a filter unit at a certain angle by controlling operation of a rotating motor. CONSTITUTION: A vacuum cleaner comprises a main body, a filter unit(240), a rotating device, a rotation sensor, and a control unit. The main body has a suction motor which generates suction force. The filter unit has a filter which filters air inhaled to inside of the main body. The rotating device rotates the filter unit. The rotation sensor senses the rotation location of the filter unit. The control unit controls operation of the rotating device depending on the sensed information from the rotation sensor.
