THIN-PIECED SUBSTANCE AND COATING COMPOSITION

Disclosed is a thin-pieced substance which is characterized by being composed of a glass which substantially contains no alkali, while containing a composition composed of 36-50% by mass of SiO2, 5-7% by mass of B2O3, 6-25% by mass of ZnO, 8-14% by mass of Al2O3, 21-24% by mass of CaO and 0-7% by mass of MnO2, with the total of the composition being 95-100% by mass.  Since the glass composition forming the substance has a low melting temperature and excellent melt moldability, the thin-pieced substance can be reduced in cost.  In addition, since the thin-pieced substance has good chemical resistance, it is effective for use as a filler for coating materials or resin molded bodies.
