A sheet of filter medium is folded to zigzag shape along lines 32, 34 defining a .plurality of panels; offset ribs 42, 44 integral with the sheet abut in line contact with ribs of adjacent panels, Fig. 4, thus supporting and spacing the panels to define the V-shaped inlet and outlet pockets shown. As described, the sheet is formed and cured on heated rollers and alternate ribs 42, 44 are formed as protrusions and depressions respectively, Fig. 7. The folded filter core is supported by a frame 68. |
