PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerizing catalyst which is satisfactory in all of the catalytic performance including stereoregularity, particle properties, or catalytic activity, and to provide a method of manufacturing an α-olefin polymer or copolymer using the same. SOLUTION: The α-olefin polymerizing catalyst comprises components [I] and [II] as follows: [I] a solid catalyst component (A) which is obtained by contacting following components (i)-(iii), wherein the component (i) is a solid component (A1) containing titanium, magnesium, and halogen as indispensable components; the component (ii) is a vinyl silane compound (B) represented by the formula (wherein R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each a hydrocarbon group, hydrogen or halogen and may be the same as or different from each other; Y is an aliphatic hydrocarbon group; R<SP>3</SP>is a hydrocarbon group or hydrogen and may be the same as or different from either R<SP>1</SP>or R<SP>2</SP>, provided that 1≤i≤3, 0≤j≤2, 1≤k≤3, i+j+k=4, and 0≤m≤19), and the component (iii) is an organic silicon compound; and [II] an organic aluminium compound (D).
