PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor capable of braking with a simple configuration when cutting off power supply. SOLUTION: The electric motor 10 includes a magnet 125, an electromagnetic coil 120, a rectifier circuit 140 connected between both ends of the electromagnetic coil, and a switch circuit 150 which forms a closed circuit along with the electromagnetic coil and rectifier circuit, and is not conductive during power supply to the motor but is conductive during power cut-off.
