<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extra-high pressure mercury lamp which has few possibility that a quartz bulb may blow up and is highly reliable. <P>SOLUTION: In the extra-high pressure mercury lamp wherein an arc tube 2 sealing a pair of electrode systems 24a, 24b in the quartz bulb 20 is housed in a reflecting mirror and the center of an arc section 11 of the light-emitting tube 2 is fixed to approximately coincide with a focal point of the reflecting mirror, unevenness processing sections 30a, 30b at a part of the surface of at least the arc section 11 side of the sealing sections 25a, 25b are formed on at least one of sealing sections 25a, 25b on both sides adjacent to the arc section 11 of the quartz bulb 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
