PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized liquid drop discharger with liquid drops accurately discharged therefrom while being reduced in variation in liquid-drop liquid amount, and its driving method. SOLUTION: This liquid drop discharger is equipped with a liquid level detection sensor 6 contained in a nozzle 5. In the drop discharger, a sequence is employed comprising: a process in which a liquid amount remaining at an end of the nozzle 5 is sucked; a discharge process in which a necessary amount of liquid is dispensed; and a suction process in which a discharged liquid drop is separated.
