PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor unit of an electric blind, which can exert a holding force for preventing the descent of a screen material by self-weight, and which can easily adapt even to the case of different necessary holding forces. SOLUTION: This motor unit comprises a motor 34 which has an output shaft 36 operatively connected to a blind driving shaft, and a holding mechanism 38 provided between the output shaft 36 of the motor 34 and a motor casing 34b. The holding mechanism 38 is provided with a magnetic plate 48 provided in such a manner as to be unrotatable relatively to the motor casing 34b and which undergoes the penetration of the output shaft 36, and a magnet 52 which is rotated integrally with the output shaft 36 and attracted to the magnet plate 48. The magnet 52 and the magnetic plate 48 have an attractive force which can apply holding torque, high enough to prevent the rotation of the output shaft 36 by the self-weight of the screen material 12, to the output shaft 36.
