PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use an ink cartridge as a common component regardless of the cartridge information. SOLUTION: An adapter 27 is provided with a bridge portion 189. Cartridge information about an ink cartridge 25 which is mounted in a case 280 at a cartridge mounting portion 276 together with the adapter 27 is held in the bridge portion 189. The bridge portion 189 of the adapter 27 has a geometry which depends on the cartridge information. However, the ink cartridge 25 is a common component regardless of the cartridge information.
