<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar illumination device of low cost and high luminance by improving heat radiation and emitting directionality of a linear light source device composed of a plurality of LED chips. <P>SOLUTION: The linear light source device 2 is provided with a plurality of LED chips 3 arranged linearly, an insulating board 4 in which a plurality of through-holes 5 to house each of the plurality of LED chips 3 is formed, and a metal board 6 which is pasted to the rear face 4b of the insulating board 4 and mounts the plurality of LED chips 3. A conductor pattern 7 is formed on the surface 4f of the insulating board 4 and the conductor pattern 7 and the plurality of LED chips 3 are electrically connected through a bonding wire 8. Further, the plurality of LED chips 3 and the bonding wire 8 are covered integrally by a resin material 9. Then, the linear light source 2 is housed in a housing frame 13 together with a light guide plate 12 so as to contact the metal board 6 to a side frame part 13b of the housing frame 13 made of a metal material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
