FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geophysics and specifically to determination of properties of porous strata. Low frequency voltage acts on a porous stratum saturated with liquid. Electrical resistance is measured, as well as complete capacitance which includes capacitance related to flow of liquid in the porous stratum, and capacitance which characterises the electrical circuit if liquid in the porous stratum is not flowing. High-frequency voltage is then applied onto the porous stratum. Capacitance which characterises the electrical circuit when the liquid in the porous stratum is not flowing is measured. Capacitance related to flow of liquid in the porous stratum is calculated. The lag time of flow of the liquid is calculated. Permeability of the saturated porous stratum is then determined from the lag time. ^ EFFECT: increased accuracy, simple measurement process. ^ 1 dwg |
