<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strong transmission belt having glass fibers for rubber reinforcement which are obtained, as a coating layer, by applying a glass fiber coating liquid to a glass fiber cord and drying the same, and embedded in a nitrile hydride rubber as a matrix rubber, and in which there can be realized excellence in the dimensional stability during severe flection traveling in the presence of water and oil at high temperatures and toughness ensuring endurance of tensile strength. <P>SOLUTION: The glass fibers 3 for rubber reinforcement comprises: a strand composed of glass fiber filaments bundled together; a first coating layer formed on the strand and comprising a phenol compound-formaldehyde condensate selected from a monohydroxybenzene-formaldehyde condensate and a chlorophenol-formaldehyde condensate and an acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer; and a second coating layer formed on the first coating layer and comprising a chlorosulfonated polyethylene, triazine-based compound, and zinc methacrylate. In order to improve durability, vinylpyridine-styrene butadiene copolymer and chlorosulfonated polyethylene are added to the first coating layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
