<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise a temperature of oil in an early stage, while effectively cooling the oil in order to restrain the highest temperature. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A two-system cooling device is provided wherein cooling water separately flows to a cylinder head side water jacket 11 and a cylinder block side water jacket. In a rear end of the cylinder head 1, a cylinder head side cooling water outlet 14 is opened in a position offset from a center line M, and an outlet chamber 15 forming a part of a cylinder block side cooling water passage is provided adjacently to it, and is opened as a cylinder block side cooling water outlet 18. An oil passage 21 communicated with a cylinder block side oil gallery through an inside of a thin partition wall 16 partitioning the outlet chamber 15 is formed by drilling. The oil flowing through the oil passage 21 is heated to high temperatures in an early stage by the relatively high temperature block side cooling water after starting, and is effectively cooled by the relatively low temperature head side cooling water after completion of warming.
