PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip inductor which is capable of obtaining good electric characteristics such as a high Q value by reducing magnetic loss of an inductor element and is capable of obtaining a high reliability required for the use on vehicles or the like. SOLUTION: The chip inductor includes: a ferrite core 14 including a shaft part 12 and collar parts 13 disposed at both ends of the shaft part 12; winding 16 which is wound around the shaft part and has both ends fixed to internal electrodes 15 provided on top surfaces of the collar parts; a rubber-like resin 23 covering a part or the whole of collar parts and the winding wound around the shaft part; a molded resin body 11 wherein the ferrite core, the winding, and the rubber-like resin are sealed up; and an external electrode which is connected to the internal electrodes and includes a metal plate 21 which extends from an upper part of a side surface of the molded resin body and is bent and disposed along the side surface and a bottom surface of the molded resin body.
