PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive polymer fiber having good crystalline nature, high strength and high conductivity, and to provide a method for producing the fiber. SOLUTION: The conductive polymer fiber has a half-value width of a diffraction peak of (020) plane of 6-10°by X-ray diffraction, and the method for producing the conductive polymer fiber includes a step to prepare a conductive polymer solution or a conductive polymer dispersion having a viscosity of 50-400 mPa s and a step to perform wet-spinning by extruding the conductive polymer solution or the conductive polymer dispersion into a coagulation bath.
