PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device comprising a paper delivery tray enabled to be used for both of a case of recording by using an auxiliary tray, in which recording materials are to be set, and a case of recording without using the auxiliary tray, without attaching/detaching the auxiliary tray each time. SOLUTION: This recording device is structured to insert an auxiliary tray 920, in which recording materials 930 are set, from a paper delivery tray 710 arranged in a front surface of the device and to record the recording materials 930 with a recording head 110 when conveying the recording materials in a direction opposite to the inserting direction. This recording device is provided with a positioning means 755 for setting the auxiliary tray 920 in the paper delivery tray 710, and a regulating means 756 for hindering the auxiliary tray 920 from being inserted to positions except a predetermined position.
