Disclosed is a method for cleaning a probe in an analyte dispensing device, the method comprising sucking an analyte into a dispensing probe and delivering the sucked analyte to dispense the analyte.  Also disclosed are an analyte dispensing device and an automatic analyzer.  The method for cleaning a probe in an analyte dispensing device comprises a determination step that determines whether or not the dispensing probe has dispensed an analyte for a specific analysis item (S4), and a cleaning step in which, when the dispensing probe has dispensed the analyte for a specific analysis item, in a period after cleaning of the dispensing probe and before the suction of a next new analyte, at least an outer wall surface of the dispensing probe is cleaned and the next new analyte is delivered followed by cleaning the internal and external wall surfaces of the dispensing probe (S10).
