PROTECTION PANEL HAVING TOUCH INPUT FUNCTION

A protection panel for detecting X-Y coordinates representing a manipulation position from a potential gradient, on the basis of touch manipulation on a front surface side substrate.  The protection panel is provided with a first transparent resistance film (5A) and contacts (5G) which are so connected to a pair of first terminals (5D) through routing circuits (5C) as to be parallel to the first transparent resistance film (5A) on a back surface side substrate (5).  When the back surface side substrate (5) and a front surface side substrate (6) are connected to each other, the contacts (5G) which are so arranged as to be opposed to one another at predetermined intervals and an enlarged region (6Ab) of a second transparent resistance film (6A) formed on the front surface side substrate (6) constitute switches (12) for detecting whether or not the contacts (5G) and the enlarged region (6Ab) come into contact, on the basis of a potential detected at one of the terminals (5D) of the back surface side substrate (5) and one of terminals (6D) of the front surface side substrate (6) when a potential is applied across the other terminal (5D) and the other terminal (6D).
