<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shift a moving member to a position where it can estimate a magnetic pole without needing a complicated system, in case that the moving member is positioned at the end of a movable range. <P>SOLUTION: This linear motor includes: a stator 13; the moving member 12, which reciprocates rectilinearly along the stator 13; an armature e, which is provided in either the stator 13 or the moving member 12; a permanent magnet ma, which is provided in the other; and a stopper 11, which is positioned at the end of the movable range of the moving member 12. Especially, the armature e includes a magnetic substance e3 at its end, and the positional relation among the magnetic substance e3, the stopper 11, and the end of the permanent magnet ma is predetermined, so that the moving member 12 shifts to a position at a predetermined distance from the stopper 11, receiving the magnetic force working between the permanent magnet ma and the magnetic substance e3, when the moving member 12 abuts on the stopper 11, in the state where the supply of a current to the armature e is shut off. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
