<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical fiber cable having both low friction and high flame retardancy with reduced diameter, which is manufactured by using a simple plant. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable 1 comprises: a coated optical fiber 3; tension members 5 following the coated optical fiber 3; adhesive layers 7 coating the tension members 5; and a low friction material layer 9 which integrally coats the coated optical fiber 3, the tension members 5 and the adhesive layers 7, wherein the adhesive layer 7 has the flame retardancy higher than that of the low friction material layer 9. The adhesive layer 7 is formed by adding at least metallic oxide or red phosphorus into maleic anhydride denaturation ethylene vinylacetate copolymer-based adhesive resin.
