<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for a vehicle, capable of properly controlling pitching and bouncing even when the vehicle runs on a road having low μ. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The controller for a vehicle generates a braking/driving force on each of front and rear wheels by a driving force generating mechanism based on driving force distribution calculated to suppress pitching or bouncing. The controller is provided with a road surface μ detecting means for detecting a friction coefficient of a frontward road surface (step S1); a grip limit calculating means for calculating a grip limit on front and rear wheels (step S2); and a driving force distribution changing means in which when at least either the driving force distribution for suppressing the pitching or the driving force distribution for suppressing the bouncing becomes out of the grip limit region, the driving force distribution out of the grip limit region is changed into driving force distribution nearest to the driving force distribution out of the grip limit region within the grip limit region and under a total driving force (steps S7-S12).
